Last week, one of the promotional initiatives of FTC (Fun Town Company) of Taiwan has backfired, when Taiwan police have started investigation about their activities based on electoral laws of its nation. Fun Town Company, as a result of this, has been forced to close their game, “The People’s Big Prediction”. As per CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation),”This politically oriented game may be an encouragement towards online gambling and can be construed for manipulation of public opinion for election of president”.
The local police have mentioned that initiative was generated against large numbers of bets within five days of operation of FTC (Fun Town Company). In addition to this, police have arrested approximately 14 people, who are placing their bets on the outcome of election of president. Furthermore, prosecutors have reported that alleged rings associated with gambling activity have collected approximately $2 million of bets.
