Black Future Month// 2-7-11 // MVMT
Posted on February 7, 2011
We interrupt the regularly scheduled program for a public service announcement from the good folks at MVMT.
Oh, you don’t know MVMT. That’s cool. You’re not the only one. There’s one person under a rock in Antarctica that Rolando Brown hasn’t met yet. I jest, but only a little bit. Rolando is easily the best networker that I know. He’s better connected than Kevin Bacon. I guarantee you that you’re only separated from him by 1 degree. Ro’s part of a collaborative project, based in NY, that helps people with great ideas and uncanny drive grow their dreams into fruition. Sounds like a lot, right? It is. One of Ro’s partners in MVMT is James Bartlett, who heads Embassy MVMT, which focuses mostly on the cultivation of musical careers. Jullien “Purpose Finder” Gordon creates metrics and tools for planning and implementing success. And those are just the first three names on their roster. In brief, MVMT is a group of young tastemakers who impact politics, culture and international music and film. They’re taking a trip to Ghana, West Africa for a groundbreaking film festival and you’re invited.

Join MVMT, MoCada and Lunchbox Theory as they travel to Ghana, West Africa. I’d add a reference to Black History here, but come on son — what’s more black history than Africa? Going home is #BlackFuture
