Sunday 3-6-11 // Can I get a (thick) witness?
Posted on March 6, 2011
There is a story I’d like to tell you, but I think it wouldn’t be prudent to type it online. Suffice it to say that today, just now, really, I had a brush with TSA, the good folks of the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s department and American Airlines. All’s well, but I’m reminded now, as I was before the whole ordeal that I am blessed and highly favored.
I am constantly in God’s favor and grace, even when I do not deserve it. I’m sorry. Let me rephrase. I’ll never deserve the sort of mercy that’s bestowed ‘pon me daily. And I’d like to praise that which is higher than me.
Best way for me to communicate with the Lord is through song. I make a whole lot of joyful noise, in fact.
Last night a good friend of mine asked what I do do get out of a funk. No better salve than song, I think. It does my heart such good to hear a man of spirit raise his voice in praise. So here’s two songs that put me in my right mind. Stevie Wonder’s Higher Ground and Denizen Kane’sLost and Found.
